Town Planner: Brian P. Henshaw
Responsibilities:
The Town Planner serves the citizens of Stephens City with their planning and inspection needs.
Through partnership with the community, the Town Planner strives to manage growth and promote the highest quality of development by articulating the community vision; providing information and creative recommendations based on sound planning practice; explaining and enforcing regulations; and supporting all other Departments in fulfilling the Town Mission.
The Town Planner pledges to deliver cost-effective and innovative services while providing the highest level of customer service possible.
Bio:

Brian Henshaw began his service with the Town in January 2007. He has been a professional planner in the Northern Shenandoah Valley since 2001 having work for four years for the Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission and serving as the first Director of Planning for Page County. Brian is the Town’s first Planner and is driven by the challenge of preserving the character of the Town while at the same time encouraging “good” growth that blends with desired outcomes of the Town’s guiding document, the Comprehensive Plan.
Brian has a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Radford University (2001) and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Walden University (2007). He is also a member of the American Planning Association and serves on the Technical Advisory Committee for the Win-Fred Metropolitan Planning Organization, sits on the regional Home Consortium and serves on the Shenandoah Land Use Network Committee.
